Faith

Many of us today have had faith in all sorts of things, faith in riches, faith in people, faith in governments, faith in our careers, faith in our religious organization, faith in everything but the true word of God.

That is exactly what Satan is after he is after your belief in the word of God because in it is freedom from his control.

Jesus warned one of his disciples that his faith in the word of God was under attack by Satan, that same warning applies to you and I today for it is written, “31And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” Luke 22:31-32

If your faith fail then you cannot be converted for the word of God converts the soul of man and if man’s faith in it is shaken then all is lost.

People have faith in all the wrong things but true faith can only come by way of the word of God for it is written, “ faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

People who have not come to know of God do not have true faith.

Satan has deceived many of us from the time we were born to have faith in the world and to have faith only in what we can see and touch, but the Bible says, “1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

Our belief in the word of God is under attack and because of this God refers to our faith as being a shield to protect the word of God for it is written, “ 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Ephesians 6:16

Satan is constantly shooting darts of lies at us, looking to have us put our trust in this fallen world’s system but the word of God says, “3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Hebrews 11:3

Satan has caused many of us to turn our back on God and to rely on the ways of this wicked world but those who posses true faith have overcome for it is written, “4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaks. 5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:4-6

Many people today say that they know Jesus but have faith in the ways of the world overlooking the fact that they cannot know Jesus neither is it possible to please him without faith in his words for it is written, “7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” Hebrews 11:7

Satan wants people to have faith in his system to believe that it is wise to not make a move until you see the financial means to support your move but if you hear the voice of God it overrides Satan’s system for it is written, “8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Hebrews 11:8-10

Satan wants you to put your trust in this worlds doctors whether to have faith in the true physician for it is written, “11Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. 12Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.”  Hebrews 11:11-12

The Bible speaks of a servant of God which choose not to have faith in this world, who rejected Satan’s temptations holding fast to his faith in the word of God for it is written, “24By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward. 27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. 28Through faith he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 29By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.” Hebrews 11:24-29

Satan is the enemy of God and he is the god of this world are you going to continue to have faith in this world or will you learn to put all of your trust in the words of the only true God and in Jesus Christ?
When you have true faith in the word of God nothing in the world will ever prevail again for it is written, “30By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. 31By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

32And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 36And others had trial of cruel mocking and scourging, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.” Hebrews 11:30-40

All these examples of people who understood true faith but you and I have even stronger faith available to us because we are living in the fulfillment of the promise.

We are living in the after math of the Messiah Jesus Christ, many of these examples walked in the faith of his coming, as we walk in the faith that he has come and die and rose for the sins of the world.

I pray that you hold fast to this truth, that you learn to trust in the word of God only and not to put your faith in a fallen world.

I pray that your faith does not fail.
