Bearing the fruit of Jesus

Bearing the fruit of God

In today’s times many things seem to be quite confusing, there are so many people who claim to be servants of Christ Jesus, how can we ever really know who they truly are?

Jesus warned us through the Word of God that we would know them by their fruit, in our words by their actions for it is written, “15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Matthew 7:15-20

In others words, a true servant acts and operates like Jesus did. Let us review the fruit of Jesus for it is written,”12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on Love, which is the bond of perfectness. Colossians 3:12-14

Jesus loved mankind for it is written, “43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate your enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:43-48

This is some good fruit, how are you doing in this area of your walk?

Jesus hated religion and all that it stood for as it is written, “13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. 14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. 15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.” Matthew 23:13-15

The Bible teaches us that an evil tree cannot bring forth good fruit and the only kind of fruit that is produced by religion is another hypocrite for it is written,“8 This people draw nigh unto me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Matthew 15:8-9

Jesus fruit or actions were the opposite of what religious people do, how are you doing in this area of your walk?

They build large building and fill them with people, Jesus did not for it is written,” 1 And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples said unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here! 2 And Jesus answering said unto him, See thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. Mark 13:2

They put on a good show to fool people into believing that they have good fruit but it is written, “5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, 6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.” Matthew 23:5-7

This was not the fruit of our Lord Jesus.  God expects us to bear fruit that is consistent with His son Jesus for it is written, “1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that bears not fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abides in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” John 15:1-8

The Bible says that a person who studies and lives according to the Words of God will produces great fruit for it is written,” 1 Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” Psalm 1:1-6

Are you planted in Christ or are you dedicated to a religion? Jesus left us a parable to study and it reads, “6 He spoke also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbers it the ground? 8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.” Luke 13:6-9

How long have you been walking with the Lord? And when he returns will He find any fruit on you?

Brothers and Sisters I pray that you will bear much fruit and come the day of our Lord that you are a part of His harvest.

Until next time I love you,
